  32.     DemoNews is a weekly publication dedicated to the demo scene.  It is
  33. produced at the Internet FTP site ftp.eng.ufl.edu (aka WASP or HORNET).  
  34. This newsletter focuses on all aspects of demos and demo-making  (including 
  35. music, art, and coding).
  36.

  61. We hit our 400Meg limit this week--again.  Anyone got a spare GIG hard
  62. drive (SCSI) or $700 they can donate for a worthy cause?  Till then I
  63. will continue to bug the Sys Admins for more space...like asking them
  64. to delete some of those 20Meg files in the /pub directory.  Chances
  65. are it will not help but it is worth trying...till it backfires and
  66. people start wondering why this stuff called "demos" is located here.

  170.         Hello everyone.  I start school this week, and I'll have time to spend
  171. at the computer lab, so HORNET may go through some cool new changes.  I think
  172. I'm going to experiment with ANSI in some of the directories.  We'll see how
  173. this works out.  It will depend a lot on your response.  Also, the .message
  174. files (that automatically display text when you enter a particular directory)
  175. are going to be standardized, and the /programming directory should be
  176. straightened up too.
  177.         A lot of files were deleted this week because they did not have a
  178. text description file.  In the future, I plan to delete all uploads that do
  179. not have a .txt file with them.  Due to the traffic that goes through HORNET,
  180. it is no longer feasible to search .zip files for these descriptions.  Sorry
  181. for the inconvienience.
  182.         A couple of you have written me in response to your files being
  183. deleted.  Remember, I have no control over this.  If you will donate a hard
  184. drive, we can allow files to remain online much longer.  Until then, your
  185. uploads have about a month life expectency.

  198. ENTER your music into the MC][ or if you have a tune that can not be 
  199. enter MC][ but feel it is EXCELLENT it may still have a chance for
  200. the DA portion of the CD.  Music I consider EXCELLENT = tunes from
  201. these fine demos:  AMNESIA, CRYSTAL DREAMS, CATCHUP, UNREAL...

  205. HEY YOU!  Are you an artist?  Want to see your ART on the cover of
  206. a COOL CD?
  207.  
  208. We are accepting ART for the CD and perfer people from the DEMO scene.
  209. Acceptable formats include PCX, JPG, GIF, TIF, and anything COREL DRAW
  210. (4) and/or CANVAS will accept.  UP to 3 drawings can be in full color,
  211. 2 drawings need to be in gray scale (will be halftoned), and one drawing
  212. needs to be in 2 colors (PANTONE).  Submit samples if you can but DO
  213. notify us (dmw@eng.ufl.edu) if you can help.  We have a couple people
  214. but thus far no ART has been submitted.
